We present ‘Mesa para 3’, a short film created to raise awareness about food shortage and its consequences

Stoller Europe team reestablished the Stoller Tour Visit Program this year, visiting Brazil and Stoller South Africa to meet colleagues and customers

The growth of the world population and insufficient food production is one of the problems that we face for the coming years. This challenge has led us to create the ‘Table for 3’ initiative, a short film to raise awareness about food shortages that has had the participation of actors such as Luis Zahera, Paco Tous, Nacho Guerreros, Nerea Garmendia, Luis Mottola and Alexandra Masangkay. This audiovisual project shows the complicated and unpredictable situation in which five friends who have arranged to have dinner find themselves involved. Arriving at the restaurant, they discover that the table they had reserved for five people is a table for three, which means that two of them must stay without dinner. This situation puts their friendship and existing ties to the test. Through the different scenes, from Stoller Europe we seek to raise awareness about this serious situation that the world population of the five continents is facing.

After viewing the short, a round table was held with the participation of the actors Nerea Garmendia, Luis Mottola, Nacho Guerreros and Alexandra Masangkay, who shared their experience, as well as their vision of food shortages and its consequences. “We are not aware of the privilege of having a plate of food on the table every day. The good thing about this type of project is that the audiovisual serves to raise awareness and help reflect on these issues. It is very important for society to be aware of what it has, and what it could lose because nature is running out,” Masangkay confesses.

In the same way, the actress Nerea Garmendia has also shown her concern by transmitting the importance of raising awareness in society to bring about a change in habits among citizens “since we are not aware that tomorrow, which is going to be very soon, we will not we will have food for the entire population. I know that human beings are destroying the planet, but I was not aware of the seriousness of the situation and I think it is essential that people know it,” says the actress.

For Luis Mottola, the main element for change lies in people “From here I send a message of help, asking us to please stop thinking so much about ourselves and try to put ourselves in the shoes of others. We are a species that we are not taking care of, neither ourselves nor our environment.”

For his part, Nacho Guerreros has expressed the difficulty of facing a situation like the one he has experienced in the short: “I think you should put your heart first and be honest with yourself when choosing who sits down to dinner and who doesn’t. Now said like that, it’s easy, but I think the situation would be tricky, although I think it wouldn’t cost me”.

Although at the moment the short film has only been presented exclusively to clients, suppliers, associations and collaborating universities, Stoller’s human team, as well as the actors and acquaintances, will be released throughout the country and will be available to all audiences next month of October.
